About HDM Photography

I'm Oscar Sill, a photographer from Yorkshire. I've worked in photography, videography, and editing since my teens, and in 2019 I decided to start a freelance media business to keep doing what I love but✨ officially✨. I called it HDM, which stands for Henry's Darkroom - named after my Grandpa Henry's love for photography & developing his own film photos in his home-built DIY darkroom (an almost pitch-black room lit with a dim red light, where you can develop and cut film reels!) When I told my sister the name of my new business, she guessed that it stood for High Definition Mongoose ... so I guess it also stands for that now too.

My specialisms are capturing headshots, sports, and events, so these are the main examples you'll find on this site. For any other enquiries, you can always get in touch and I'm happy to help! Over the years I've produced bespoke photography for clients including corporate businesses, charities, and theatre productions; and created videography for live performances, behind-the-scenes content, and BSL video captioning.
